A free pre-conference modelling course will be held on 5–6 September 2026 at the National Institute of Biology, Ljubljana — limited to 20 places.
Missed the initial deadline? We are reopening abstract submissions — exclusively for poster presentations. Each abstract must be accompanied by a completed conference registration to be included in the scientific programme.
Final deadline: 31 August 2026. Submissions are reviewed within a few days of receipt.
The early-bird registration deadline has been extended to 28 June 2026. Register now to secure the reduced fee.

The 22nd conference of the International Study Group for Systems Biology (ISGSB) will be held in Ljubljana, Slovenia, from 7-11 September 2026. The meeting is dedicated to advancing the role of theory, models, and cutting-edge experiments in elucidating the control, kinetics, and thermodynamics of biological systems. We seek contributions that rigorously connect molecular mechanisms with emergent cellular functions within complex biological systems. We welcome researchers engaged in fundamental systems biology, as well as applied fields including (but not limited to) medicine, plant science, and industrial biotechnology, to share their latest work. Contributions focusing on tools, computational methodology, and infrastructure are also highly encouraged to foster this dynamic interdisciplinary discourse. We look forward to welcoming you to Ljubljana!
The face-to-face meeting of the ELIXIR Systems Biology Community will be co-located with ISGSB 2026, including a dedicated ELIXIR Systems Biology Community session embedded within the ISGSB programme and a lunch-to-lunch meeting taking place in parallel with the ISGSB conference. This will be an opportunity for ELIXIR members and collaborators to exchange insights, discuss ongoing projects, and coordinate future activities in systems biology. Participants will have the opportunity to engage directly with experts across data resources, computational workflows, and community initiatives supported by ELIXIR.
The International Study Group for Systems Biology is a self-organising collective of international researchers interested in advancing the biological sciences through exploring the interplay between theory, model and experiment. The ISGSB is devoted to the quantitative understanding of the kinetics, thermodynamics and control of biological processes at the molecular and cellular level.
